Spring is the perfect time to refresh your garden. If you want to bring your garden into top shape before the growing season, early spring is the right time for landscaping. Spring gardening tasks are typically undertaken for landscape transformation, including transplanting, fertilizing, sowing seeds, and planting bulbs, annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, and mulching flower beds. However, spring landscaping does come with certain challenges such as unpredictable temperature fluctuations, including alternating frosts, rainfall, and heat waves, all of which can shock your plants. Additionally, existing trees, plants, and bulbs have not yet leafed out or bloomed, making it difficult to place new plants and increasing the risk of damage to existing ones

Summer is the season when we spend the most time outdoors, which naturally gives us the most inspiration and motivation for landscaping projects. The selection of plants is at its peak, making summer a great time for gathering ideas. We suggest visiting garden centers during the summer and taking photos of plants that catch your eye to prepare in advance for the next season. Although plants are in full bloom during the summer, it’s not the best time for landscaping due to very high temperatures, minimal rainfall, and plants requiring a lot of water due to the heat. Without regular care, plants can easily wilt.

Fall, particularly early fall, is excellent not only for preparing your garden for winter but also for complete landscaping projects. Temperatures are milder without the risk of nighttime frosts, and there is often plenty of rainfall. The growing season is over, and plants are no longer using all their energy for leafing and flowering, instead channeling it into developing their root systems. With a well-established root network, plants absorb more nutrients and can better withstand harsh winter conditions. Planting in fall leads to explosive growth in spring, whereas planting in spring means plants will need to expend more energy to adapt and survive. As fall marks the end of the growing season, it’s easy to assess what was successful and where repairs are needed.

Winter is a season that, due to its low temperatures, is certainly not the time for landscaping, as plants are in a dormant state; transplanting is definitely not recommended, even for indoor plants.

Therefore, since plants will be exposed to temperature extremes both in winter and summer, this is a good time to start planning your garden landscaping project. Late spring or early autumn bring pleasant temperatures and are perfect times for landscaping.
